2. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations must be made in advance, preferably 2 days before the tour date.
- Full payment is required to confirm the reservation.
- Payments can be made via credit/debit card (VISA / MASTERCARD) or PayPal. Credit card processing is handled securely and directly through the Banco Nacional de Costa Rica gateway with 256-bit SSL encryption. Tour Operador La Perla del Sur never has access to or stores your card details.
- A booking confirmation voucher will be sent to the email address provided.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policies
- No-Show: In the event of a no-show, no refund will be issued.
- Credit/Debit Card Payments: A full refund is granted if the cancellation request is submitted on the exact same calendar day of the transaction. For cancellations submitted on subsequent days, transaction fees and banking taxes will be deducted. No refunds are eligible after 180 days from purchase.
- PayPal Payments: Eligible for refund within 180 days of transaction date.
- National Park Tickets Non-Refundable Notice: For any cancellation, regardless of payment method, once entrance permits for Corcovado National Park (Sirena, San Pedrillo) or Caño Island Biological Reserve have been issued by SINAC/MINAE, the park ticket fee is non-refundable and will be deducted from any refund amount.
4. Force Majeure Cancellation
In verified force majeure events (flight cancellations, serious documented illness, severe weather alerts, or port closures by Coast Guard authorities), guests will be offered full rescheduling or refund.
5. Booking Changes & Safety
- Date changes are subject to tour and guide availability and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance.
- Participants must follow the captain and certified guide instructions at all times.
- Original passport or official government ID is mandatory for national park check-in. Single-use plastics, smoking, and vapes are strictly prohibited inside protected areas.
